Kinja'd!!!

I accidentally got a little gas on my hand when I was fueling up the 944 this afternoon. The smell won't go away. At all. No matter how many times I wash my hands, it still smells like gas.

How do I get my hands to smell normal again? My next idea is to go through all the Bath & Body Works-type stuff in the house, but I'm thinking the stink of 93 octane is so bad, it's just going to smell like gassy flowers. Uuuuuggghhhh.

Advice?

If I can ask what mods have you done to your 944 I'm looking for ideas for mine. As to your question I hear gas burns well you could hold a match next to your finger and it will burn right off:)

Haha, I revised that part. It smells awesome until it makes you a little woozy in the head. Then it's not so awesome, but awesome. I'm conflicted on this. Somehow I think smelling like flammable substances isn't going to fly.

I was once told getting gas on your clothes/ hands is great to cover up the scent of the strip club. Now Steph.......

A lady that smell like gasoline will attract gear heads from miles away. But be careful, I'm not sure about some of the opponauts on here some of them can be a bit loopy. It might make your boyfriend jealous.

I kid I kid.

Best of luck getting rid of it. Did you try something like Gojo or fast orange?

Funny, because I've been thinking about releasing a line of gasoline cologne!

I've done...........nothing. 4srs.

It's stripped out and has a rollcage, and I removed the HVAC and front lights, but that's really it. Oh, we put the manual steering rack back on from the '83 car, too, but even that's a stock Porsche part. LeMons-legal safety gear, but stock everything else.

Get some good sticky tires first. Me gusta the Dunlop Z2s this one's on. This car's so light, it's still rolling around on the same tires with 1 hour at TWS, the entire 12.5?-hour Eagles Canyon race, and a bunch of farting around at Harris Hill on them. Make sure the car has a good alignment for whatever you're doing with it and it won't hardly make a dent in tires. It's crazy how easy this car is on every consumable, ever.

Dot4 brake fluid and good track brake pads if that's what you're doing with it. If not, skip this. I'm just using plain ol' steel blanks for rotors and the stock setup from the '83 car a) because drilled rotors suck hard because they crack from the holes if you actually USE your brakes and b) because the car's incredibly easy on brakes, too. '84 (the year this car is) had some more complicated calipers than the '83 car with some extra brake sensor lines plugged into them, but one of those was seized, so we just put the totally simple 83 calipers that work back on the new car.

Then maaaaaaybe some nicer suspension, but yeah, this thing is a blast even on floaty, boaty worn-out stock 944 suspension. My car is EXACTLY the kind of thing Judge Phil from LeMons refers to when he talks about bouncing on teams' back bumpers and saying "MMMM, COMFY!"

Try Gojo or even lots of dish soap. The B&B stuff won't do anything except cover it up. Use a grease remover before you move on to the smelly lotions.

Don't feel too bad, I decided it would be a good idea to pull the carburetor from my bike apart in my kitchen. Gas fumes have been making me woozy all weekend. Or maybe that's been the booze...

The first time I was on pit crew for a Chump car race, I was responsible for refueling the car.

Swear I smelled like gas for two weeks after the race.

Arrgh. I don't have any around the house, and I forgot to use any at the track.

Yeah, but what do you do about the boobie glitter on your face?

GLITTER TELLS ALL. You're hosed, bro.

No. Don't have any in the house. Forgot to use the garage sink at the track. Grr.

I have some organic frou-frou exfoliating acne soap in my shower that I might try, though. It's gritty and about the closest thing to gritty Gojo I've got. Kills zits AND grinds off that annoying top layer of skin!

Try diesel. It's a stronger smell.

Note: I've been working for a year as a pump jockey. I don't even notice the smell of gas anymore.
